Identification and Development of Tourism Potential to Increasing the Number of Visitors in Kampoeng Batik Laweyan Surakarta

Kampoeng Batik Laweyan is a tourist destination that began to develop again in 2004. The condition of an area is determined as a tourist destination that must have 4A components (attractions, accessibility, amenities, and ancillary). Kampoeng Batik Laweyan already has 4A components, but there are still shortcomings and problems. The purpose of this study was (1) to find out what tourism products (4A) contained in Kampoeng Batik Laweyan, (2) to determine the effect of the development of these tourism products on increasing the mber of visitors in Kampoeng Batik Laweyan. This study uses the method of observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The research findings show that there is a development of tourist attractions including, man made resources such as educational tourism, puppet show, and pantomime. Accessibility to Kampoeng Batik Laweyan are good, the road conditions are good, and there are sign directions. Kampoeng Batik Laweyan also has amenities consisting of accommodation (hotel, homestay, restaurant), and other facilities such as prayer rooms, shelters, signposts, and trash bins. The Ancillary or Kampoeng Batik Laweyan institution is managed openly and democratically by Development Forum of Kampoeg Batik Laweyan/FPKBL . An increase in the number of visits and in educational tourism over the past 3 years, both domestic and foreign tourists. Based on the results of the questionnaire, 90% of visitors want to come back to Kampoeng Batik Laweyan (repeater), 100% of visitors will spread information about Kampoeng Batik Laweyan to friends, relatives, family, and others. With the development carried out by the manager, the number of visitors is increasing.
