AI and Authorship
Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of manuscripts submitted to or published by Media Wisata.
Authorship requires human responsibility for the scholarly contribution and the ability to take responsibility for the content of the work.
Any use of AI must therefore remain under the responsibility and supervision of the human authors.
Disclosure of AI Use
Authors must disclose the use of Generative AI or AI-assisted technologies when such use materially contributes to the preparation of the manuscript or research.
The disclosure should identify:
- The name of the AI tool;
- The version or model, where available;
- The purpose of its use; and
- The nature or extent of the assistance provided.
A suitable statement is:
Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies:
“During the preparation of this manuscript, the authors used [NAME OF AI TOOL] for [PURPOSE]. The authors subsequently reviewed, verified, and edited the output and take full responsibility for the content, accuracy, originality, and integrity of the published work.
Where AI is used as part of the research methodology, its use should instead be described transparently in the relevant section of the manuscript, particularly the Methods section.”
AI Used Only for Language and Copyediting
Basic assistance with spelling, grammar, punctuation, formatting, or language readability does not ordinarily require a separate disclosure when the AI tool does not materially contribute to the intellectual content of the manuscript.
However, authors remain responsible for ensuring that the resulting manuscript accurately represents their own research, analysis, interpretation, and conclusions.
AI-Generated Images, Figures, and Other Materials
The use of Generative AI to create or substantially modify images, figures, illustrations, tables, datasets, audio, video, or other research materials must be disclosed when such use is relevant to the research or may affect the interpretation of the work.
AI-generated materials must not:
