Correction Policy

English Version

Media Wisata (MWS) is committed to maintaining an accurate and reliable scholarly record. When an error is identified in a published article, the journal will assess the nature and significance of the error and take appropriate corrective action.

Types of Corrections

A Correction may be issued when an error does not invalidate the main findings or conclusions of the article but requires amendment to maintain the accuracy and completeness of the published record.

Examples include:

  • typographical or grammatical errors that affect meaning;
  • incorrect author information;
  • errors in affiliations;
  • incorrect or incomplete funding information;
  • errors in tables, figures, captions, or supplementary information;
  • incorrect references or citation information;
  • minor errors in data presentation that do not alter the main conclusions; or
  • other factual or editorial errors that require formal correction.

If an error substantially invalidates the article's findings or conclusions, the journal may consider an Expression of Concern or Retraction, depending on the circumstances.

Correction Procedure

Corrections may be identified by authors, editors, reviewers, readers, or other credible parties.

Requests for correction should provide:

  1. a clear description of the error;
  2. the location of the error in the published article; and
  3. the proposed or supporting corrected information.

The Editor-in-Chief or designated editor will evaluate the request. Where necessary, the authors may be contacted for clarification or supporting evidence.

When a correction is approved, Media Wisata will:

  • publish a formal correction notice;
  • clearly describe the error and the correction;
  • link the correction notice to the original article;
  • update the article where technically and editorially appropriate;
  • maintain the original publication record and metadata; and
  • ensure that the correction is clearly identifiable to readers.

Corrections will be handled transparently and independently of commercial considerations.
